Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dick’s is a multi-level club/dining experience. The lower level is a modern diner, while the second and third floors are a split-level dance club.
The diner is anime-inspired with vibrant color panels along one wall. Brightly lit, the space is designed mostly in high gloss white tile and shades of gray, with deep red hues comprising the furniture in the space. Most of the surfaces are highly reflective, from the Carrara marble tables and countertop, to the polished chrome and stainless steel hardware, glass windows, mirrors, and backlit backbars.
Compared to the lower level the two upper club levels are more spartan in appearance. The second floor is predominantly white, relying mostly on club lighting to create the mood and atmosphere. The third level is also white, using primary and complimentary color accents to divide the space and draw your attention to the main bar and VIP room.
A very challenging space to photograph, we managed to shoot all three spaces well into the late evening over the course of several hours. We chose an evening shoot to avoid the unsightly daytime street view from the storefront windows.
